Walking With Jesus-Love Your Spouse

If you are married, loving your spouse is your joy but also your main calling from God.

Loving your spouse has to be done on purpose.  It is easy to say I love you when you say I do and never bring the subject up again from 25 years of marriage.

Marriages grow cold if the husband and wife are not intentional about loving each other.

Think about your spouse.  What are they doing right now?  Think about seeing them again, when will that be?  What makes them happy?  What makes them sad?  What is their favorite food?  What is their favorite book?  What is their favorite tv show?  

When is the last time you watched tv together?  When is the last time you had dinner together? When is the last time you went to the movies together?  When is the last time you laughed together?  When is the last time you were close.

If you are going to walk with Jesus, he wants you to love your spouse.

Walking With Jesus-Like People

Love your neighbor as yourself.  James calls this the royal law.

I want to love God and not like the people I see every day.  The people I differ with politically, culturally, and with matters of taste.  But I can't love God if I do not like people.

The test of love of God is love of neighbor.

Well what is the test of love of neighbor?  Love of enemy.

I love people who are like me, but people who do not know God do that.  I am called as a Christ follower not to just love those who are like me(I am finding there are not to many of those) but to love those who are nothing like me(There are a lot of those types of people).  

Not easy, but I must walk with Jesus.  I want to walk with Jesus.  He was truly human, and I want to be.

So love your neighbor and love your enemies.

Walking With Jesus-Comparison Love For God

Which is the best ketchup?  Right, Heinz.  Which is the best salad dressing?  Right, Thousand Island. Which is the best toothpaste?  Right, which ever one my wife buys.  And if you disagree with me you are wrong.  Ok maybe you have your right to your opinion.  No matter how wrong it is.

Ok, who loves God more, me or you?  You or your sister? You or your neighbor?  You or that guy who wears jeans to church?   

Don't compare your love of God with someone elses love of God.  If you do you will find some you see as more holy than you, and you feel depressed.  

I am always have been impressed with those who can pray for 2 or more hours.  I always feel impressed with those who have such outward joy during a song service.  But I have to love God as myself.  I pray this much time a day(I would tell you, but it may make you feel like less of a prayer than me).  And I do express my self during song sometimes loud, sometimes moderate, many times quiet.  And that is ok as long as I am loving God  

Don't compare your love of God with someone elses love of God.  If you do you you will find some that you feel more holy than and you will feel proud.  

I can find plenty of people who do not love God the way I think they should(or can I).  I am not talking about doing unscriptural stuff and saying I can love God how I choose.  But I can not judge anyone's love of God, well I can it just makes me a worse person and makes me proud.  You know proud, like the devil.

Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.  You love God with all you heart, soul, mind, and strength and leave comparing to the marketers and branders

Walking With Jesus-Worship God

One thing God cannot do is worship.  In order to worship you must have something that is higher than yourself.  There is nothing higher than God, so he cannot worship

Whatever I worship will direct my life.

I was in need and I needed a friend.  I was alone and I needed a hand.  I was going down but someone rescued me.  I got a friend in high places.  The highest place.  So I walk by faith and not by sight. Jesus is worthy of worship because he makes all things new.

Sing to Jesus, pray to Jesus, fall down on your knees in prayer and praise before Jesus

Blessed assurance Jesus is mine.  That is my story.  Praising my savior all of my days.

Walking With Jesus- Love God

Hear O Israel The Lord our God The Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.

Hear O Todd The Lord our God The Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.

To start a day out right  you must love God.

The God I love has been made known by Jesus.  The God Jehovah, Yahweh.  Jesus has made him worldwide.  As the waters cover the sea.

What is God like, God is like Jesus, God has always been like Jesus, there was never a time when God was not like Jesus.  We haven't always known this, but Merry Christmas, now we do.  Jesus said he has come to make the Father known.  After he ascended to the oval office of the universe where he rules with all authority, Jesus sent his Holy Spirit.

So I worship the God in three persons, Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

I do this by surrendering to Him daily.  By daily prayer, By daily sitting with Him.  By asking Him to lead me.  I do this through weekly

gathering with His people to worship.  I do this through giving.  I do this through the Eucharist.  I do this through repentance.  And on and on.

I love God.  Mainly I love Him because He first loved loved me.

Walking With Jesus- Don't Be Self Centered

We should all love ourselves, because we can't love our neighbor as ourself, if we do not love ourselves.  So I must make sure I am growing mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.  This will help me to love God and others.  But this is different from being self centered.  Always thinking about myself, concerned always about my needs.

When the center of the universe was discovered, many people were surprised it was not them.

Not being self-centered is important because it pulls me out of myself into the good world.  Into a world of people that love me and that I can love.  This will build me up (not that it's about me) and it will also help me to build others up.  I will be a complete person and make others complete.

When I think about my daughter and stop thinking about myself, I find I like myself more.  I learn a whole lot more from watching her than I do being inwardly focused on myself.

Add this phrase to your life, "Think about others."  What is my wife going through?, "Think about others."  What did my daughter do at school today?, "Think about others."  I wonder what my mother is doing?, "Think about others."

There I feel better already.  Think I will go and call my mom.
