Things that come to mind. Things that hopefully will help you grow spiritually. Things that will make you laugh, maybe. A good song or two. Hopefully things that will build us up.

Top 4 Hospital Cafeterias
4. Blodgett Hospital. To be fair this may be number one for all I know. I have been there several times, but I have never eaten a meal there. So that is why it is four of four as of now. I reserve the right to move it closer to the top later on down the road.
3. St. Mary's Hospital. Ok I think they have the worst food out of the bunch. Some of it is gross to me. (No offense to anyone who works there). The one thing they do have going for them is free refills on Dr. Pepper, which is nice.
2. Spectrum Butterworth Hospital. This cafeteria is the biggest with the biggest selection. The food is ok, better than St. Mary's The problem with this hospital is the price. They think a lot of there food. A hamburger is like $20, apparently beef is very rare there. (ok maybe a slight exaggeration). But they do have a lot of fresh fruits.
1. And the number one hospital cafeteria is, wait for it, wait for it. Metro Hospital. The cafeteria has a subway right in the cafeteria. But if you do not do that, everything else is good as well. There salad bar is some good eatin. Hamburgers good, french fries good, chicken good, soup good, fish good. It is all good. The price is reasonable. The only draw back is there is no free drink refills.
So there it is. If you are looking for a good hospital cafeteria and you are in the Grand Rapids area. Those are my recommendations.
What is your favorite hospital cafeteria?
P.S.
If you want the best hospital cafeteria, you have to go to Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina. That is where my daughter was born. It blows all four of these off the charts. They even have a Chick Fil A.

The Challenges
I use to be roommates with my cousin, Andy. For some reason we were always challenging each other.
This is back when I had hair. So our challenge was to see who would go the longest without getting a haircut. I think I made it about 3 months. I was working at a church and I was starting to get looks from a few folks. So round one went to him.
Round 2 went to me. Although he may remember it differently. We were in the month of November and we still had not turned the heat on in the house. So naturally we challenged each other to see who could make it the longest without breaking down and turning on the heat. It was near Christmas and we were both in sweatshirts, jogging pants, and covered in blankets. You could see your breath in our house. It was good for making sure company did not stay too long, no one would stay it was too cold. "HE" finally hit the button and turned the furnace on.
So what can you learn from this? I don't know.
Go out and challenge someone. Nothing dangerous of course.
Have you ever had this type of challenge with someone? Leave me a comment.

4 Ways To Have Life

The most relaxing and recreating forces are a healthy religious attitude, good sleep, music and laughter. Have faith in God, learn to sleep well, love good music and see the funny side of life.
1. Know the real Jesus. Do not recreate him in your image. Know him and keep doing everything in your power to pursue him.
2. Go to bed. Sleep. Sleep. Sleep.
3. Play a really good song and play it LOUD! Make sure it is good.
4. LOL, laugh out loud. Read this cartoon over and over until you laugh.

Mother's Day Memory
Alright, here's the deal. A memory that I will never forget.
I bought my mother a book for mother's day, "Leading On Empty" by Wayne Cordeiro. I ordered it from Amazon and had it sent to her. I thought she would really like this book. Unfortunately my timing was bad and the book would not arrive until today, 3 days after mother's day.
I went to my mailbox this afternoon and found a package for me. I opened it and there was the book "Leading On Empty." I was upset, ignorant Amazon had sent the book to me instead of my mother, I thought. So I called mama and told her I had her present here and would have to mail it to her. She said that was fine, and not to worry about the mix up.
As I was getting ready for church I started thinking. I went back and examined the envelop the book had arrived at my house in. It was in my mother's handwriting. So, now I am confused. I start thinking my mother had received the book and had mailed it back to me. So, I have to call her back.
I ask her if she got the book and mailed it to me. Up to this point she did not know it was a book I sent her. She told me that she had not. She told me that she had found a coupon for a book in a magazine while she was at the beauty shop and sent away for it. It was a coupon to get the book for free, by the way. Guess what book it was. You got it, "Leading On Empty" by Wayne Cordeiro. My mother had gotten the book, read it, thought I would like it, mailed it to me. And right now in, in her P.O. Box, is the very same book. They crossed in the mail.
Out of the millions of books I could have chosen for her, out of the millions of books she could have chosen for me, what are the odds we would get the same book? I have never sent my mother a book, never.
I have been amazed by this memory, all day. And I will always have a story to tell.

11 Things Your Mother Would Never Say
1. "How on earth can you see the TV sitting so far back?"
2. "Yeah, I used to skip school a lot, too."
3. "Just leave all the lights on ... it makes the house look more cheery."
4. "Let me smell that shirt -- Yeah, it's good for another week."
5. "Go ahead and keep that stray dog, honey. I'll be glad to feed and walk him every day."
6. "Well, if Ron's mama says it's okay, that's good enough for me."
7. "The curfew is just a general time to shoot for. It's not like I'm running a prison around here."
8. "I don't have a tissue with me ... just use your sleeve."
9. "Don't bother wearing a jacket - the wind-chill is bound to improve."
10. "Honey you did not slam the screen door hard enough, put your back into it."
11. "Finish your ice cream, then you can have your vegetables."
