I will quote Myrna Wise,"What a wonderful service today, I am so excited about what God is doing." I happen to agree with her.
We had communion today as a church family. Sharing the Lord's Supper with Living Hope is one of my favorite things that we do as a church. Many people are claiming they can live for God without the church. The only problem with that is, God says you can't. So we come together and remember Jesus' death and proclaim His death together until he comes.
We also got a chance to recognize our gradute today. Congrats to Courtney. I hope you had a special day at Living Hope.
The sermon today was on God Almighty. I told the story of my wedding experience from this past Friday. It was an outdoor wedding and the place where I was standing was going to be directly hit by the glaring sun on that beautiful Friday. My eyesight is not the best in the world and I was nervous about reading my lines. I began to pray and felt the Holy Spirit speak to me the words I had been studying and praying about all week. He whispered, "I am God Almighty." When it cam time for me to take my place and begin the ceremony, the sun had creep behind a tree branch. Did Jesus move the sun? Well he did it for Joshua. Did he move the tree branch? Did he just set it up so perfectly that the sun would be where it needed to be at the right time? I do not know the answers to these questions. What I do know is that Jesus is God Almighty and he is perfectly capable of taking care of me and you. He can do more than we can ask or think.
We talked about how Pharaoh's plans of slavery began to shrink as God Almighty's power was revealed. Pharaoh started out in Exodus 5:2 by saying I will not let the Israelites go. As God reveals he is the Almighty when we get to Exodus 12:31-33, Pharaoh and the Egyptians are begging the Israelites and Moses to leave. I believe it is the same with us. The Pharaoh's in our lives (addictions, depression, greed, sin, etc) will shrink as we connect to God Almighty. Every Pharaoh will be dealt with.
At the end of our service we had a powerful alter call. People were coming forward for salvation, healing, and deliverance. Pharaoh's were being dealt with. Praise God Almighty (in the Hebrew, El Shaddai).
The Holy Spirit concluded our service with a word of wisdom. That message can be summed up in one word, "continue." Continue following me. Continue trusting me. Continue allowing me to be your God. We will not follow our own ways, but continue following you El Shaddai.
It was a great day.
I love you guys.
In Jesus' Service,
