Remember This Day

I really enjoyed our picnic today at Living Hope. The weather was great. The food was great. Everything would have been perfect if had won at Crockett (congrats Brad) and if Timmy and Elizabeth had not been soaking me with water guns. Now that I think about it, the day was perfect including the water guns (still wish I have won a Crockett).

During the message today, Moses Journey Part 5, we talked about the day we should remember. The day that God set us free. We also learned that we are to teach our children the things of God that he taught us when he set us free. I really enjoyed that part of the sermon and feel challenged to teach my own daughter these things. Here is some of the sermon notes from today.

II. Find opportunities to pour the things of God into your children’s lives.

1. Make sure you have something to pour.

2. Pause throughout the day and talk about the things they see, read, hear, and talk about.

3. Purposely pour into them the things they need to know about Jesus.

a. They need to hear God created them, Father too them, Jesus loves them.

b. They need to hear they need a savior, not just told to stop being bad.

c. They need to hear they need to repent to God over their sins.

d. They need to hear every good thing in their life came from God.

e. They need to hear they were given their gifts and talents to worship God.

f. They need to hear your personal stories of walking with God.

I will not assume my daughter knows the things of God. With God's help I will purposely pour the things she needs to know about God into her life. I believe Jesus is the only way our children will find true life. We will purposely pour the things of God into every child that is connected to Living Hope.

It was a fun day. Thank you to everyone that brought food and beverages. Thank you to everyone who helped serve. Thank you to everyone that made everyone feel at home.

I love you guys.

In Jesus' Service,
