Acts 3 thoughts

Acts 3:10 says people were filled with wonder and amazement about the miracle God did through Peter and John. I could use a little more wonder and amazement in my life. I desire wonder and amazement every time we gather as Living Hope.

Jesus is the Author of life Acts 3:15 tells us. I love my wife, daughter, my family, church family, friends, and my own life, and Jesus is the one who gave us life. He gives life now and forever. Author, I like that. He is the one who wrote this story of life into existence. Hemingway, Steinbeck, Grisham, Clancy have got nothing on Jesus.

One of the people that I love the most, my grandfather, died 17 years ago. Jesus said even though my Pop is dead that because Pop followed the Author of life that he shall live. He is absent from the body but there will be a resurrection, Jesus proved that when he rose.

So what should we do about this. Acts 3:19 says repent, turn again that your sins my be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus.

1. We repent, change our mind. We do this on an ongoing bases. God I change my mind about the way I was going and I go your way. This takes care of the guilt, pain, perversion, pride, the hurts, the sin that make us cringe inside.

2. When we turn to God refreshing comes. Wow, we need to turn to God more often. Strength comes when we take time to turn. Our minds are cleared when we take the time to turn. Guilt is lifted when we take time to turn. Direction is given when we take time to turn.

3. The Christ(the Messiah, the savior, the chosen one) shows up, Jesus. No one ever like Him. No one as smart as him. No one as powerful as Him. No one as giving as Him. No one understands like Him. No one worthy of respect like Him.
