It was a good time at church tonight with God and the Living Hope family.
Richard, Cindy, Elizabeth, and I started out tonight by getting attacked by a bird. A mama bird has built a nest above our air conditioning unit. We saw three baby birds popping their heads out and mama bird was chirping at us in a very threatening tone. It was pretty funny.
During prayer I spoke from Luke 22 where Jesus told his disciples to wake up and pray. So before every request we quoted that word, "Wake up and pray." It was very powerful. That word energized our prayers. The word of God is alive and does have the power to stir up our very souls. Our prayers were effective tonight.
We finished up our series on Islam tonight. I enjoyed educating myself and our church family on this other religion. I believe it has prepared us to minister to Muslims confidently, wisely, and graciously. Praise Jesus for that.
Next Wednesday we are taking off for Memorial day. We will continue the following Wednesday, June 3 with a series from the book, "The Case For the Real Jesus," by Lee Strobel. Please come and be a part of this Wednesday night experience.
