Advent Day 5

John 1:6-9

⁶ There was a man sent from God whose name was John. ⁷ He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. ⁸ He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. ⁹ The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.


-At first John was witnessing about someone he did not know.  He was completely walking by faith in God's promise through Scripture.
-The word witness is where we get the word martyr.  A witness lays down their life for Jesus.
-Jesus is the light.  I am not the light.  You are not the light.  Do pretend you are the light.
-The light has come into the world.  Jesus is Lord right now.
-We are witnessing about someone we have not seen, like John.
-One day our faith will be sight, like John.
