Things that come to mind. Things that hopefully will help you grow spiritually. Things that will make you laugh, maybe. A good song or two. Hopefully things that will build us up.

Delight In The Lord Song Of The Week- O Holy Night
Advent begins this Sunday. Advent means coming. So we celebrate the first coming of the Savior of the world and look forward to His second coming.
O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!

Delight In The Lord Song Of The Week- Holly Jolly Christmas
Alright the delight in the Lord songs of the week for the rest of the year will be Christmas songs.
I know this song is not considered sacred, but I think it is. For these reasons
The word "Christmas" occurs nowhere in the Bible. It is an old English word that means "Christ's Mass" which refers to the celebration of the Lord's Supper, i.e. the Mass. The earliest occurrence of the word on record is 1038 A.D. Christians at this time considered the Mass (Lord's Supper) to be the most important part of the celebration of Christ's birth, hence it came to be called Christmas.
So every time a song even has the word, "Christmas" in it, the song is saying more than maybe even the artist realizes.
And that part about the "mistletoe"and "kiss her once for me," Paul said in Romans 16:16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. Yeah, yeah, I know that is not where the tradition came from, I'm just sayin.
This is just a joyful song. I like it.

Delight In The Lord Song Of The Week- Our God Is Able
I heard this song this morning at Grand Rapids first CBC college. It was a sacred time of worship. I enjoyed the song, but more importantly I believe God enjoyed the worship.

Delight In The Lord Song Of The Week- Me Without You
My daughter likes this song. It is a fun song. I think it is ok. Although no 43 year should say the word brim. Act your age Toby. On second thought, no one should use the word brim when referring to your hat no matter their age.

Delight In The Lord Song Of The Week- He'll Take Care Of The Rest
You know, it ain't no use
Banging your head
Up against a cold stone wall
'Cause no one perfect
Except for the Lord--
Even the best's bound to fall
Remember,
He is the vine
And you are the branch
He loves to get you through it if you give him a chance
You just keep doing your best
And pray that it's blessed
And Jesus takes care of the rest
(chorus)
Yes the Lord said He'll take care of the rest
He's gonna do it!
He'll take care of the rest
He'll see you through it, yeah
He'll take care of the rest
The devil blew it!
(Old pharaoh blew it)
(His neighbors blew it)
Well He'll take care of the--
He'll take care of the rest
You just think about Moses
In front of the burning bush
Barefoot on the holy ground
You know he must've been thinking
"Hey, what's an old dude like me
Gonna tell 'em of when I go down?" (oh yeah, Moses)
But the Lord said
"Hey Mo, don't you worry about goin' down south
'Cause I'll be sayin' every word that comes out of your mouth
You just keep doing your best
And pray that it's blessed
And hey Mo, I'll take care of the rest"
(chorus)
Just believe
And you'll receive
That comfort you need
You just think about all those lonely people you know
They've got everything they want
But they've got empty souls
But he'll take care of the--
He'll take care of the--
Care of the rest!
You just think about Noah
Shoulderin' his umbrella
When there wasn't a cloud in the sky
All his neighbors would laugh
At his pet giraffe
And they would oh-ho, snicker as he passed by
But the Lord said
"Be cool - you just keep building that boat
It's just a matter of time
'Til they see who's gonna float
You just keep doing your best
And pray that it's blessed
And hey Noah, Ill take care of the rest
I'm THE weather man
(chorus)
He'll take care of the rest
He's gonna do it!
He'll take care of the rest
Oh, now Jesus will see you through it
He'll take care of the rest
Yes, yes, yes
He'll take care of the--
He'll take care of the--
He'll take care of the rest...

Delight In The Lord Song Of The Week- God of Wonders
-This week look for the beauty in God's created world.
-This week enjoy the mystery of God and Christianity. Don't try and be Bible answer man and have to figure everything out.
-This week think about the wonder of God, His creation, but mainly that he saved you, is saving you, and will save you completely. A sinner, like me, he loves. Wow.

Delight In The Lord Song Of The Week- Open The Eyes of My Heart
-The Shema
Deuteronomy 6:4-5 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart
-Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
-God has to do a heart transplant for me us to love him with our whole heart
-The Greatest Command Mark 12:28-30 28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” 29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”
-The test of love of God is love of neighbor. The test of love of neighbor is love of enemy.

Delight In The Lord Song of The Week- Roll Away Your Stone
1. "Don't leave me alone at this time,
For I am afraid of what I will discover inside"
-The heart is desperately wicked.
2. "You told me that I would find a hole,
Within the fragile substance of my soul
And I have filled this void with things unreal,
And all the while my character it steals"
-For all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory.
-The younger son asks the father for his inheritance and goes out to fill his soul with things unreal. But he ends up in a pigpen with his character shattered.
3. "Darkness is a harsh term don't you think?
And yet it dominates the things I seek."
-A light has come into this world but the world loves darkness.
4. "It seems that all my bridges have been burned,
But, you say that's exactly how this grace thing works"
-That is real grace, when you know you don't deserve any kindness.
5. "It's not the long walk home
that will change this heart,
But the welcome I receive with the restart"
-The younger son was not changed by the walk home, he was changed by the father who welcomed him back home.
6. "And so, I'll be found
with my steak stuck in this ground
Marking its territory of this newly impassioned soul"
-Take up your cross and follow me. If we lose our life for his sake we will find it.

Delight In The Lord Song Of The Week- Losing
-About the band- Tenth Avenue North (stylized as tenth avenue north) is an American contemporary Christian music (CCM) band from West Palm Beach, Florida. They took their name from a major east-west road in Palm Beach County. The group was formed while attending Palm Beach Atlantic University. The band features Mike Donehey on vocals and acoustic guitar, Jeff Owen on electric guitar and backup vocals, Ruben Juarez III on bass guitar and backup vocals, drummer Jason Jamison, and Brendon Shirley on keys.
-Lyrics- Why do we think that our hate's gonna break a hard heart
We're rippin arms over wars that don't need to be fought
Cause pride wont let us lay our weapons on the ground
We build our bridges up but it's just to burn them down
-Thoughts- This "Us verses Them" mentality is killing us.
-The Jesus Prayer "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner." Let's first look at ourselves and not pray begin with Lord have mercy on "them" a sinner.
-After we have done this we follow the example of the God man, Jesus. He forgave "them." Who said Father, forgive "them." The ones who crucified him, he forgave "them."
-Then even it feels like I am losing when I forgive, I know I am winning because I am being like Jesus. Someone has to stop the cycle of revenge.
-God help me, this "us verses them" if not dealt with will corrupt our souls, our nation's soul, the world's soul. We forgive 70x7. Not seek revenge 70x7.
