I am watching "The Presidents" on History Channel 2, "H2." By the way do not watch the regular History channel because all it is now is mindless reality television that rots your soul.
Anyway, off my soapbox and back to "The Presidents." There was one quote from the producers of the show that I found interesting. The first episode was about Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe. The quote was, "All of these presidents and every president since has been shaped by the events that took place during their presidencies."
It was true, whether it the was the war of 1812, the westward expansion, the Civil War, 9/11, cultural shifts, etc all these things define a presidency.
How the Presidents responded spoke volumes about them. You can't choose which way the wind is blowing, but you do choose how you will set sail.
We all face situations that have the potential to define us. How will we respond? How will we set sail?
